The 30th Annual Association of Avian Veterinarians Conference & Expo with the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians and the 16th Annual Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians Conference will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Saturday, August 8 through Saturday, August 15, 2009. The Conference Committee designed a program that is sure to prove once again that the AAV is the leading conference in avian and small exotic animal medicine and surgery in the world!
The 2009 AAV Conference & Expo with AEMV and ARAV in Milwaukee will be very exciting! For the first time, we are bringing together the Associations of Avian, Small Mammal, and Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians to one conference. With the concerns about today’s economy, we are all making careful decisions about money and traveling. If you have one conference choice this year, make it Milwaukee’s Best! Here you will be able to obtain your entire exotic animal CE at one scientific meeting.
Join us in Milwaukee and you will get more "bang for the buck". Here are some real cost savings for the 2009 Conference:
- Milwaukee is a value city that offers inexpensive meal options and many free activities. Enjoy Lake Michigan , public parks, and the Miller Beer Tours—all at no cost!
- Milwaukee is easy to get to and once in the city, transportation is affordable too! Round trip shuttle service from the airport to the hotel is only $25. If you book this service through the customized link that will be on the registration website at least 48 hours in advance, the fare will be discounted to $22 round trip per person. Also, in the summer, Milwaukee offers a free trolley service from the Hyatt to all major attractions around town.
- The Hyatt hotel is discounted to a rate of $154 per night for a single or double room. The average rate at the Hyatt in August is $200-$250!

- Students and Technicians: Apply to be a lab assistant and earn $100 plus a free lunch!
- Attend the specific sessions or stay the entire week! Registration prices include several different options from which to choose.
- The presence of all three associations will enable you to earn CE credits for all species.
- Cost of the AAV Full Main Conference includes entry to the Ice-cream Social, passes into the exhibit hall, two lunches, all coffee breaks, a ticket to the President’s Reception that includes a buffet and karaoke, a proceedings book, a lab discount, and entry into the sessions.
- The Kick-Off Event at the Milwaukee Zoo is only $50 per person and includes entry to the zoo and aviary, a private dinner at the Apes of Africa Exhibit, tours of the onsite animal hospital, and transportation.
- And of course, we have the best avian and exotic animal lectures from world renowned speakers.
