The Hyatt Regency, located in the heart of downtown Milwaukee, is connected to the Midwest Airlines Center convention facility, Federal Plaza , and Grand Avenue Mall. It is only two blocks from the Bradley Center, Performing Arts Center, and Entertainment District. One block away is the scenic Riverwalk where you will find restaurants, shops, and activities such as riverboats and concerts.

The hotel offers a complimentary state-of-the-art fitness center complimentary to all guests. Each room features a 25 inch or larger TV, iron/ironing board, hairdryer, clock radio, daily newspaper, and complimentary coffee. The hotel will offer all conference attendees a discounted rate of $5 for high-speed internet access per 24 hour period.

For hotel dining options be sure to visit Polaris, the only revolving rooftop restaurant and lounge in Wisconsin , serving breakfast, lunch and dinner delicacies. The views are spectacular! Room rates at the Hyatt are $154 single/double. There is a $20 charge for each additional person per night (children under 18 are free). Be sure to mention you are with the AAV Conference when making your reservation to ensure you receive these discounted room rates. Based upon availability, conference rates apply three days before and after the conference dates for reservations made before July 17, 2009, so you may extend your stay and combine the conference with your family vacation. Please note: July 17 is the cut-off date to ensure availability and rates quoted, so make your reservation early. If space fills up as it has in past years, contact the Conference Office for alternate hotels.

Conference Hotel: A small portion of the discounted room rate paid to the conference hotel is rebated to AAV. This rebate is offered to AAV as an incentive for doing business with the hotel, and helps defray conference expenses and keep registration fees low. Therefore, all parties benefit when you select the Official Conference Hotel for your lodging.

Discounted Rooms for Students
A limited number of rooms are available for students at the rate of $109 per quad. To qualify for these rooms, students must send a copy of their student ID along with complete registration form and hotel reservation form to the Conference Office. The Conference Office will make your reservation with the hotel and provide a confirmation number. These rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Roommate List
If you are interested in sharing a room with another registrant, please call the Conference Office to be included on the roommate list. When you call, you will be given 2-3 other names and phone numbers of individuals who are interested in sharing.

Getting to Milwaukee

Driving Directions
The Hyatt is 10 miles from the Milwaukee Airport. From the South–(Chicago, O’Hare airport and the Milwaukee airport) Take 94 West / 43 North towards downtown Milwaukee. In downtown, follow the center lane marked 43–North/ Green Bay. Follow 43–North to the McKinley / Fond Du Lac Avenue. Go east on McKinley to 6th Street. Turn right on 6th Street. Go 4 blocks to Kilbourn Avenue. Turn left on Kilbourn. The Hyatt will be on your right at 4th and Kilbourn.

Airport Shuttle/Taxi
The best way to get to the Hyatt from the airport is to take the shuttle service, Airport Connections, which is $22 round-trip per person if you book this service through the customized link at www.goairportconnection.com. A taxi is approximately $25 one-way.

Parking
Milwaukee is a city in which it is very easy to walk around, but if you are driving, parking rates are $20 per day for self or valet parking with unlimited in and out privileges. For alternative parking, please use the outside parking (not covered) located on Kilbourne and 2nd street. Rates vary; please check with lot for current rates.
