This hotel is usually $200-$400 per night during August!

Nearby popular attractions include the world-famous San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, Sea World, and LEGOLAND California. The Marriott offers a 446-slip marina just steps from the hotel and all guest rooms have spectacular city or bay views.

The hotel offers a complimentary state-of-the-art fitness center complimentary to all guests. In addition, enjoy the two resort-style outdoor pools and a hot tub. Steps away you will find a walking/jogging path that winds around the San Diego Bay. Each room features an alarm clock, complimentary coffee/tea service, internet browser/Web TV, safe, iron/ironing board, hairdryer, bath robe, and daily newspaper. The hotel will offer all conference attendees a discounted rate of $9.95 for high-speed internet access per 24 hour period ($3.00 per day savings) in your room. Fee includes local and long distance phone chares. The public areas offer free wireless access.

For hotel dining options be sure to visit Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine. Roys serves fantastic food and has a beautiful outdoor patio overlooking the bay. LC’s is open for breakfast every day and DW’s Irish Pub is open for lunch and dinner. There is also a Starbucks located on site for all your pastry and coffee needs or you may choose hotel room service for the quiet pleasure of dining in your room.

Room Reservations
For reservations call 1-800-228-9290 and ask for Group Code: “Association Avian Vets”. You may also use the form provided on page 17 before July 5. To register online, click here, and complete your information. If you have problems with this site, please contact the hotel directly.

Room rates at the Marriott are $177 single/double. There is a $20 charge for each additional person per night (children under 18 are free). Be sure to mention you are with the AAV Conference when making your reservation to ensure you receive these discounted room rates. Based upon availability, conference rates apply three days before and after the conference dates for reservations made before July 5, 2010, so you may extend your stay and combine the conference with your family vacation. Please note: July 5 is the cut-off date to ensure availability and rates quoted, so make your reservation early. If space fills up as it has in past years, contact the Conference Office for alternate hotels.

Discounted Rooms for Students
A limited number of rooms are available for students at the rate of $99 per quad. To qualify for these rooms, students must send a copy of their student ID along with complete registration form and hotel reservation form to the Conference Office. The Conference Office will make your reservation with the hotel and provide a confirmation number. These rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Roommate List
If you are interested in sharing a room with another registrant, please call the Conference Office to be included on the roommate list. When you call, you will be given 2-3 other names and phone numbers of individuals who are interested in sharing.

Conference Hotel: A small portion of the discounted room rate paid to the conference hotel is rebated to AAV. This rebate is offered to AAV as an incentive for doing business with the hotel, and helps defray conference expenses and keep registration fees low. Therefore, all parties benefit when you select the Official Conference Hotel for your lodging.

Driving Directions
The Marriott is 2 miles from the San Diego Airport. Driving Directions: Turn left on Harbor Drive. Follow Harbor Drive along waterfront. Hotel will be on right (about 2 miles). To locate additional driving directions, you may wish to visit www.mapquest.com.

A visit to the San Diego Zoo’s Wild Animal Park is a safari into adventure. Featuring huge open enclosures with herds of African and Asian animals, the Wild Animal Park is a unique experience that brings people thrillingly close to wild and endangered animals. During an open vehicle safari, come to eye level with animals such as white rhinoceroses, giraffes, Cape buffalo, Roosevelt’s gazelles, African crowned cranes and more. Guests also can experience up-close animal encounters at various times throughout the park.
